Emergency First Aid with CPR/AED
Duration: 7.5 hours in-class
Blended option: 4.5 hours in-class + 4 hours online learning
This course is ideal for those who want to gain a general knowledge of first aid principles and the emergency treatment of injuries for the workplace or home. You will learn:
- Victim assessment
- CPR and how to properly use an AED
- Choking
- Respiratory emergencies
- Circulatory emergencies
- How to treat external bleeding and burns
Includes CPR-B certification. Can be upgraded to CPR-C certification upon request.
This course is recognized by the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (W.S.I.B.).
Standard First Aid with CPR/AED
Duration: 14 hours teaching time
Blended Option: 7 hours in-class + 8 hours online learning
Get comprehensive training covering first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) skills for those who need training due to work requirements or who want more knowledge to respond to emergencies at home. This course includes everything covered in Emergency First Aid and is for those who require a more in-depth understanding of first aid such as:
- Medical/legal aspects
- Spinal injuries
- Heat or cold injuries
- Bone and joint injuries
- Abdominal and chest injuries
- Burns and medical emergencies
Includes CPR-C certification.
This course is recognized by the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (W.S.I.B.).
Standard First Aid Recertification
Duration: 7-8 hours teaching time
Standard First Aid Recertification is a 1-day course intended for people whose current Standard First Aid with CPR C card is nearing expiry. It reviews methods for providing standard first aid and CPR to injured or ill persons.
The Ontario Workplace Safety & Insurance Board (WSIB) specifies that current Standard First Aid (SFA) may recertify their SFA not more than 3 years from the Standard First Aid date of issue. To renew SFA certifications subsequently, award holders must repeat the full SFA Course. Thereafter, you may renew by alternating re-certifications and original courses.
